Jordan Peele Wants More Black Voices in Film

Looks like I better get to work on my horror spec script.

Sketch comedian-turned-horror auteur Jordan Peele wants to help young black filmmakers get a foothold in the industry, and so he’s telling them to holler at him.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Peele says, “For young black horror filmmakers, if you have a script, reach out and I’ll try to help it get made. Monkeypaw Productions is my production company and we’re really trying to promote untapped voices in genre.”

📸 Photo of the Week: On Tap 📸

I’m trying, I’m trying, I’m trying to do this on a more consistent basis. Bear with me.

As you can clearly see, this photo is of the many different taps at a bar. What you don’t know is that this photo — taken on 400 ISO 35mm film with the Lomo LC-A+ — was taken at Yard House in L.A. Live during my last trip to Los Angeles.

It was an overcast Sunday, and I was killing time before an Oscars viewing party (that I never actually attended), and I needed a drink badly. A Zero Draft Thirty Update #ZD30Script — Day 16

OK, so we are 16 days into Zero Draft Thirty, the writing challenge in which we are supposed to write a “zero draft” of a screenplay in 30 days.

As the challenge mandates we write at a pace of four pages per day, at this point we should be at Page 64.

On Untitled NYC Comedy, I am at Page 58.

I know, I know. I started off cheating and now I’m a few pages behind. However, I am not worried. I will soon be taking time off from the day job, and during that period I vow to catch up in the most spectacular of ways.
