A few weeks ago, the Hellboy reboot premiered in cinemas across the globe. How did it fare? Well, it’s got a 14% Rotten Tomatoes score and, as of this writing, it’s earned a worldwide gross of about $21.5 million against a $50 million budget.
Why did it do so poorly? The answer’s obvious, no? It’s a reboot that came too soon. One that nobody asked for. I think it’s very safe to say that we, the people, hate reboots, remakes, and sequels.
Hell, one of my mantras is “Not everything needs a sequel or reboot.”
And yet, here we are, in the midst of another reboot. What am I talking about? I’m talking about my blog, of course.
