Aisha Tyler can now add “director” to her already versatile resume. The talk-show host/actress/author/producer (see?) has made her feature directing debut with Axis, a film that takes place entirely inside a car.
According to Deadline, Axis is the story of an Irish actor who, on the morning he’s to star in a “career-changing blockbuster film,” encounters “a series of devastating events threaten to challenge his sobriety.”
“This is a movie about a guy driving through Los Angeles, and it unfolds in real time,” Tyler said at Deadline Hollywood’s Sundance Studio to discuss the film.
Axis was funded through Kickstarter and was filmed over the course of seven days. How did Tyler manage to achieve such a feat? By shooting 65 pages of script per day.

For those who ain’t up on the film: Henson plays Mary, an assassin in the employ of Danny Glover‘s crime lord Benny. When Mary performs a hit that leaves a young kid, Danny (Jahi Di’Allo Winston), an orphan, she’s overcome with guilt and begins keeping tabs on the kid. Some time passes, and when Mary discovers that Danny is in the employ of a sadistic and abusive gangster named Uncle, she kills Uncle, setting off a chain of events that threaten to unravel the city’s criminal underworld.

Since no one pays any attention to what I do here, maybe no one will notice this silly little copyright-infringing iMovie trailer I put together with footage from New Year’s Eve.
I told y’all I was going to keep making these little trailers. They’re fun, yo! Once again, the editing was all done in iMovie, and all footage was captured by my
obsolete iPhone 7 using the Filmic Pro app.
