According to a report from Deadline, Amazon has plans to produce and release Black America, an alternate-history series that imagines a world in which freed Blacks received the Southern states of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama as reparations for slavery during the Reconstruction Era, and how this leads to the birth of a sovereign nation, New Colonia.

Y’all know how much I love Squirrel Girl, right? Y’all know I have loved her since the very beginning. My boy DJ Les Boogie hates that she once “battled” Galactus — and technically won.
Anyway, despite my deepest desires to write a live-action Squirrel Girl film, Marvel has decided to use the character in its Freeform television series Marvel’s New Warriors, and they’ve finally cast an actress to portray Squirrel Girl.

As I’m sure most of you will agree, 2016 was one bitch of a year.
Not only did we have to deal with numerous celebrity deaths and the crushing disappointment of a presidential election hampered by an increasingly antiquated process (not to mention both the media’s coverage of the candidates and the arrogance of third-party millennial voters), but I suffered personal losses as well.
I didn’t really speak publicly about this, but my mother’s death in August affected me in ways I couldn’t before conceive. Then there was the jinxed jaunt to Los Angeles over the Thanksgiving holiday, during which I was the victim of bank fraud. And I was beginning to feel a whole lot less fulfilled personally and professionally.
