Yesterday was #BookLoversDay and so I decided to participate by posting the above photo to Instagram. As of today it’s gotten about 96 likes, which isn’t any spectacular but pretty good for me. In any case, one of my friends posted this comment: “Who’s that dude on the bottom?”

OK, I’m gonna break it down so that it may forever and consistently be broke.
I like helping people out. I like giving advice, when asked for it. I like sharing what I have learned.
What I do not like is when people come to me and ask me to do the work and/or research for them … for free.
I also do not like when friends give my info to random peeps — even if I know these random peeps — and offer my services and know-how before asking me if it’s OK. Shit’s annoying.

Last week, I got myself a new toy: Holly.
Holly is a Canon EOS M3 24-megapixel mirrorless digital camera. I know, I know, that’s a mouthful. It’s also my first foray into digital photography in almost 10 years (if you don’t count iPhone photography, which, really, I do not). Up until now, I’d been shooting on film.

Back in July, my buddy, Miami hip-hop artist ER305, dropped Of a DiffERent Cloth, the long-awaited follow-up to his 2015 effort Tunnel Vision.
Sonically, this new EP is a meld of heavy drums and bass with dusty, obscure samples, and ER rides each track with his direct, no-holds-barred lyrical style. At six songs, it’s a lean project, but one that’s thick with chunky production and top-notch verses.
